Universal Communications Hub-250

The Universal Communication Hub (UCH) - 250 is powerful technology that provides transparent communication and networking capabilities in wireless environments. Located at the client’s premises, the UCH-250 bridges the interface incompatibility gap between peripheral devices and networks by acting as a network router, device interface, and protocol converter.

Powerful Business Communication System Hub

The UCH-250 lets you fully utilize your peripheral data devices to communicate in any way you desire. It provides a wide variety of data device interfaces through six separate ports that operate different protocols while sharing the same network access.

  • Serial (DB9)
  • Modem (RJ11)
  • Ethernet (RJ45)
  • USB
  • PCMCIA

Each port can be configured as the “Network” port, depending on your needs, with the remaining ports used as your “Local” ports.

Innovative Data Conversion

Protocol Wireless networks have the capability to transfer data but they lack the flexibility to interface to data devices. The UCH-250’s revolutionary technology lets you use your wireless connection — satellite, cellular, Wi-Fi — for much more than just talking.

The UCH-250 converts data to a format that can be transmitted over any available wireless network, enabling your data centric devices to send and receive data over a wireless phone network, even without a computer.

Effectively Share Data and Network Connections

The UCH-250 utilizes a wireless network by connecting it to a satellite, mobile, or radio-based phone, or through a wireless access point. This flexible technology gives the UCH-250 unequaled data sharing capabilities, including:

  • Manage up to TWO network ports, providing seamless network redundancy/backup transparent to downstream devices or users on local network (for example, one port connecting to cellular modem and the other connecting to satellite erminal)
  • Provide smart connectivity management for those network links that are billed by connection time (ie UCH-250 will setup network connection when it detects the user activity and shutdown the link when activity is over)
  • Telephony interface for use with an analog fax machine, credit card terminal or data modem
  • Ethernet/Wi-Fi connection that supports multiple computers accessing the same cellular, satellite or GPRS uplink, even when a signal is not available
  • Uniform interface that gives computers and PDAs access to the data port of a wireless phone without the need for specialized software
  • Versatile application platform that allows you to easily build add-on services, such as GPS tracking
  • USB host ports that enable the easy addition of GPS dongle, scanner, printer, webcam, microphones, and other USB based devices
